Add Material From Past Courses
Course activities and resources may be imported from any other course in which the instructor has editing permissions. This allows faculty to quickly re-use course content, instead of re-creating one or more activities or resources.
- Start in the new course into which you would like to import previous materials.
- Select the “More” tab below the course title, and then choose Course reuse.
- On the next screen, from the drop-down menu at the top left, be sure to select "Import."
- Once the setting is set to Import, select the course you wish to import from, and click Continue.
- You will see the "Import settings" page. Use the check boxes to include activities, groups, filters, etc. (whatever items you need) in the import then click Next.
- The Schema settings/Include screen allows you to select the week or topic blocks and items within them that you wish to include or exclude in the import. Check boxes to include those item(s), and uncheck them to deselect them. Click "Next" when you've finished with your selections.
- The Confirmation and Review/Backup Settings screen allows you to review your import selections, showing green checkmarks for items you've chose to include, and red "X"s for items you've chosen to exclude. If everything looks the way you want it, scroll to the bottom and click "Perform Import." Otherwise you can click the Previous button to go back and change your selections, or cancel the import entirely by clicking Cancel.
- A progress bar will display as the import takes place. After a few moments, you should see an "Import complete. Click continue to return to the course." message if the import is successful, or an error message indicating that the import process did not take place.
If you encounter an error in the import process, please take a screenshot of the error message and include it in a follow-up e-mail to the Educational Technology team (edtech@mtholyoke.edu).
