R and RStudio

This guide is designed to provide information about R and RStudio, including access, learning opportunities, ways to get help, and how to access data.

Campus Computers

There are multiple spaces around campus with computers that have R and RStudio installed, including Clapp 401, Williston Library 619, and Reese 317. To find full details about locations on campus with computers that have R and RStudio, visit the LITS page on How to find software on campus. If you can’t open the link under step 1 in your browser, try an alternate browser.

Please note that some rooms may have limited access and require department permission. Also, some rooms may be used for classes, workshops, or trainings.

Personal Computers

R and RStudio are available for download to your personal computer for free. You can install R first by visiting the page Download and Install R.  For assistance with the installation process, view the help videos by Roger Peng at Johns Hopkins Biostatistics on Installing R on Windows or Installing R on Mac.
