PhilPapers is a comprehensive index and bibliography of philosophy maintained by the community of philosophers. Includes all sources of research content in philosophy, including journals, books, open access archives, and personal pages maintained by academics.
- PhilArchive This link opens in a new window
PhilArchive is the largest open access e-print archive in philosophy. Formerly known as the PhilPapers Archive, it is built on and integrated with the PhilPapers database. Access to items on PhilArchive is free without a user account. It consists entirely of articles submitted by users

A comprehensive, bibliographic index to scholarly work published in any language anywhere in the world concerning the areas of ancient Greek and Latin language and linguistics, Greek and Roman history, literature, philosophy, numismatics, papyrology and epigraphy, and concerning the time period from the second millennium B.C. to roughly 500-800 A.D.
Multi-disciplinary databases
- JSTOR This link opens in a new windowJStor is a large multi-disciplinary database, often holding journal articles back several decades. For many titles JStor will not have the most current issue. Search by keyword or see Philosophy Journal titles.

A combined database made up of many individual resources including the library catalog and the majority of our subject-specific databases.
Search the library catalog only (enter search terms and then limit) or dozens of databases together. A great place to start your research on almost any topic.
- Google Scholar This link opens in a new window
Google's database of scholarly works. Much of the content is articles and books, but you will also see theses, dissertations, patents and other items here.
If you are on campus you can often access full text articles available through the library directly from Google Scholar. If you are off campus, go into the settings and set the library link to Mount Holyoke College.
