If you have any questions, suggestions, or resources to add, please contact us at the Language & Culture Commons (LCC).

Japanese is the official language of Japan, spoken natively by around 128 million people. Japanese uses three writing systems: the native Japanese alphabets Hiragana and Katakana, and a Chinese character system called Kanji. Japanese is ranked the 9th most widely spoken language in the world.
