Finding Maps

Where to find maps for your research

Introduction: Maps in the Library

This guide lists the some of the best places to find maps locally and online. The 5-College Map Resources, Reference Sources, Atlases, Topographical Maps, Other Specialized Maps, GIS and Map Images and WWW Sites tabs above include some of the available useful collections.

There are many, varied sources of maps within the Mount Holyoke Library collection. We do not have a "map library" as such. This web page should help guide you to some of the available map resources. Some are in atlases, some are in pockets at the back of books, some are cataloged and bound separately, some are in the Reading Room, and so forth. Beyond our collection, there are many Five College and Internet resources. Please ask Reference librarians (x2212 or ris-d@mtholyoke.edu) for help if you do not find the maps you are seeking.
