FYSEM 110ML: U.S. Multiethnic Literatures

Why use book reviews?

You won't find information about all literary works in scholarly journal articles or books.  This is often the case with recently published works that haven't been around long enough to have come to scholars' attention and into their research yet. Also, not all literary works get the same amount of scholarly attention even if they have been around for a while. If you're not finding a lot of information about an author and their work in the scholarly literature, another option is to try searching for reviews of their works. Newspapers and some popular and trade magazines are good sources of book reviews.
