Moodle Quick Help Guide

PaGE Instructors

Welcome to Mount Holyoke! Here are some quick steps to getting started with Moodle, and other useful information.

Once you are officially hired, you will be able to access your MHC account which also gets you into MHC's Moodle, our Learning Management System.
  1. You should receive an e-mail with instructions on logging in for the first time. You can also call the Help Desk directly at 413-538-2600 for help activating your account, or use the Password Profile Page for self service.
  2. Once your account is active, you can access your MHC e-mail and other Google Apps for Education - use your full MHC e-mail address when logging into Google.
  3. Log into Moodle for the first time via the MHC logo and using your MHC username (not the full e-mail) - this will establish your Instructor account in Moodle.
  4. Within a few hours of logging into Moodle, your account will be linked to any Moodle course sites for courses you are teaching. Note - course site creation is directed by the Registrar and may not be complete when you first log in. If you don't see your course sites after a few hours, contact PaGE or the Moodle Help Team for assistance.
  5. Once you're in Moodle, check out the PaGE Instructors course site (password:guest) for examples of how you might use Moodle.

You and your students have two primary venues for course related things, Moodle and the official registration system in MyMountHolyoke. Here is how they compare:
