  • available online: click direct link
  • availble in print: follow link to search catalog, click "call numbers and availability for years available.  Humanities journals: Williston floor 2 1/2, Science journals: Miles-Smith floor 2. 
  • not available at MHC: click "request via Illiad" to have it delivered electronically

Request books from another 5 College Library

 Click on request item in the catalog to have an item sent from  another 5 College library to MHC.  You will get an email when it arrives, pick it up at the MHC circulation desk and return it there when you are done.

Request books from outside the 5 Colleges

From Google Books, Wordcat or the library databases, click the "MH Links" text or  MH Links button  then select "Request document via Illiad".

Locating print books & periodicals

See Getting Around in LITS for a list of which book call numbers are found on each floor. This library map is also helpful for navigating the building.

Current periodicals, arranged alphabetically by title, are found in the Reading Room on library level 4. Back issues are located on library level 2 1/2. 

Reading Call Numbers

  • N - describes the subject area: read in alphabetical order
  • 66 -  describes the topic: read as a whole number
  • B634- describes the author's last name: read in alphabetical order, then the number as a decimal
  • 1999  - date of publication: read in chronological order
